Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name you provide. If you sign up with Google, we receive the basic profile information Google shares (name and email).

Farm & Field Data

You may choose to save field locations (including addresses and coordinates), weather forecast history, hay baling schedules, equipment and fuel data, inventory transactions, customer records, sales quotes, and SMS message threads. This data is linked to your account and is only visible to you, your team members, and farm collaborators you invite.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous analytics events (such as which features are used) to improve the app. These events do not contain personal information.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide weather forecasts and hay curing predictions for your saved fields.
• To store your schedules, inventory, customers, quotes, and messages.
• To send you email alerts when you enable hay window or frost notifications.
• To send SMS messages to your customers when you use the outreach feature.
• To provide customer support and respond to support requests.
• To process subscription payments securely through Stripe.

Location & Weather Data

Field locations you save are used to fetch weather forecasts from our weather data provider (Weatherbit) and to geocode addresses into coordinates. We do not track your real-time device location. Location data is only stored when you explicitly save a field.

SMS & Communication Data

If you use the SMS outreach feature, your customer phone numbers and message content are processed through our messaging provider (Telnyx) to send and receive text messages. Message records are stored in your account and visible to you and your team. Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details — Stripe handles all payment information securely. We receive only your subscription status and transaction metadata.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information only with the service providers that help us operate the app:

• Weatherbit — weather forecasts for your saved locations.
• Telnyx — SMS message delivery and receiving.
• Stripe — subscription payment processing.
• Geocoding providers — converting addresses to coordinates.

Each provider processes data under their own privacy policies and only as necessary to deliver the service.

Data Security

Your data is stored securely with access controls. Each user’s farm data is isolated — other users cannot see your fields, schedules, customers, or messages unless you explicitly share access or invite them to your team. Administrators can view data only for support and system management purposes.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual fields, schedules, customers, and messages at any time within the app. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, use the “Delete My Account” option in Settings — this action cannot be undone.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information in Settings, and you can export or remove your farm data at any time. For data requests, contact us through our support page.

Children’s Privacy

Hay Time is intended for use by farmers and agricultural professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the “Last updated” date above.
